ears.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.beingbobblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/23689935.jpg?ssl=1\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-838\" title=\"23689935\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The phrase \u00e2\u20ac\u0153location, location, location\u00e2\u20ac\u009d has the implication of a local market \u00e2\u20ac\u201c which is where real estate thrives. \u00c2\u00a0And social media is a platform where a real estate agent can become very well known in the local market space \u00e2\u20ac\u201c if leveraged effectively.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Think Local<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve worked with quite a few real estate agents in the past with their online marketing and social media efforts. \u00c2\u00a0And I\u2019m always amazed at how all of them, almost without exception, wanted to start sharing content about the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153overall\u00e2\u20ac\u009d real estate market.\u00c2\u00a0 The agents felt that by sharing national level real estate news and information, they would be marketing to a much larger audience. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There\u2019s only two\u00c2\u00a0 problems with this thinking:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">First,\u00c2\u00a0national level real estate news and information is typically produced on highly authoritative websites, which means your brand new website has virtually zero chance of being found.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Second,\u00c2\u00a0if you\u2019re a real estate agent in Syracuse, NY for example, \u00c2\u00a0can you really help someone in Colorado who needs a home in Denver?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Turn your focus\u00c2\u00a0on \u00c2\u00a0your local market for moment. \u00c2\u00a0Think about how many local news stories, new developments, new land use laws, or local real estate news and statistics there are.\u00c2\u00a0 As a real estate agent, if you share local news and information, you are much more likely to connect to someone in your specific marketplace who actually will hire you to be their agent.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But how do you leverage social media to generate and share this local news and information?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u00c2\u00a0suggest using\u00c2\u00a0 a\u00c2\u00a0 three tiered system that fully leverages social media, and ensures that you are gaining high quality exposure to clients who are searching for you.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Blogging<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It all starts with a blog. \u00c2\u00a0I recommend you build a high quality real estate blog using the WordPress\u00c2\u00a0 or similiar platform \u00e2\u20ac\u201c like this one\u00c2\u00a0I recently started the <\/span><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/beingbobblog.com\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Being BOB Blog<\/span><\/strong><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> . In just 6 short months it has had over 2800 unique visitors, over 55,000 page views\u00c2\u00a0and has nearly 100 subscribers. Honestly, I never envisioned that kind of response when I started it. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A <\/span><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">WordPress<\/span><\/strong><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> blog is a highly optimized platform that will allow you to easily generate content, and also gives you high levels of exposure in Google search results.\u00c2\u00a0Their templates are easy to learn how to use. \u00c2\u00a0Having a blog\u00c2\u00a0 allows you to generate local news and information, and through your content, you will attract a local market base of people.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These people, as they read more of your content, will begin to remember you and the fact that you\u2019re a real estate agent in their area. \u00c2\u00a0And your brand name will stick in their minds when they need a real estate agent.\u00c2\u00a0 Best case scenario, they visit your blog several times \u00c2\u00a0a week to get the latest and greatest information about what\u2019s happening in the local market place. \u00c2\u00a0This begins the process of brand building for your real estate business and in turn, will get other people talking about you (word of mouth marketing).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Twitter<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Twitter is a great place to generate content quickly because you only have 140 character spaces to utilize. But Twitter is a great place for you to syndicate your content to a growing online audience.\u00c2\u00a0Granted, your followers on Twitter are more than likely NOT from your local town, but you\u2019re building your brand with this audience nonetheless. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Again, the brand recognition (your name, your business, etc\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6) will be talked about by others. \u00c2\u00a0And\/or the next time a friend or a family member needs to buy a home in your area, your name will come to people\u2019s mind and your phone will ring!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Twitter is also a great way to broadcast message the content you generate on your blog.\u00c2\u00a0 In fact, you can automate this process so that each time you generate a new blog posting, the article automatically gets sent to Twitter \u00e2\u20ac\u201c all without you having to do anything but publish your blog article. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Facebook or Facebook\u00c2\u00a0Fan Page<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Facebook\u00c2\u00a0 or Facebook Fan Page is almost as important as your blog. \u00c2\u00a0I believe that\u00c2\u00a0Facebook is more valuable than any list building platform you currently use, including any email list building programs you are using.\u00c2\u00a0Consider\u00c2\u00a0 Facebook a lead generation source. Facebook\u00c2\u00a0pages are \u00e2\u20ac\u0153voluntary\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, meaning nobody forces anyone to become a fan\u00c2\u00a0or follow you on Facebook.\u00c2\u00a0 This makes\u00c2\u00a0 Facebook\u00c2\u00a0 a 100% opt-in platform. \u00c2\u00a0And getting people to voluntarily opt-in to receive updates from you makes your friends\/fans a high quality audience of prospects. So sharing all of your news and information from your blog via your Facebook page is a great way to reach the Facebook audience. I advertise\u00c2\u00a0the Being BOB Blog on Facebook all the time and attribute much of its sucessful following to Facebook.
